African Youth Make Mark on World Stage

African entrepreneurs under the age of 30 are making a name for themselves globally, with innovative ideas and determination to succeed. One such entrepreneur is Seddik Houimli, a 27-year-old from Tunisia who founded SupplyzPro, a startup that helps small and medium enterprises manage sales, inventory, and purchasing through AI agents on apps like WhatsApp.

Young Leaders in Africa

Houimli‘s path to founding SupplyzPro was not straightforward. He studied computer science at the Technical University of Munich and worked as a business intelligence analyst, teaching assistant, and cloud solutions architect at Microsoft in Germany. Despite his busy schedule, he continued to work on his own company, which has gained 1,000 active users since its launch in 2023.

Another young entrepreneur making waves is Ehumon Othniel Joshua, a 25-year-old from Benin who founded Hochea Agro Services, a working farm dedicated to developing agriculture and livestock in Benin. Joshua holds a professional license in agronomy and has used his training to build a hands-on farming business, seeking funding and support from organizations like the Tony Elumelu Foundation and the University of Abomey-Calavi Foundation.

Innovative Solutions

Samson Alemu, a 28-year-old from Ethiopia, has developed an innovative solution to the country’s reliance on chemical-based farming methods. His company, Thur Biotech, offers environmentally friendly bio-fertilizers and biological crop protection solutions designed to boost productivity while improving soil health. Alemu‘s flagship product, Thur Combo, has been tested across three different regions and has shown promising results, reducing the need for pesticides and making agriculture more resilient to climate change.

Alemu noted in an interview that his products fortify crops against diseases and droughts, reducing the need for pesticides and making agriculture more resilient.
